About David
I hold a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology, a Bachelor of Education degree, and a Diploma in Special Education.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC #16771).
Community Experience:
I worked at the Mental Health and Substance Use Centre at Royal Columbian Hospital, in community mental health in Delta,
and in many locations in the Lower Mainland as both a teacher and counsellor. My time spent in Dene and Inuit communities in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories, and on Indigenous reserves in northern Saskatchewan was instructive and a learning experience. Working as a parent-teen mediator is where I helped families find balance, patience, understanding and compassion, a very rewarding time.
Clinical Orientation:
During our sessions, it is important to direct therapy to what YOU need and want. My focus is to listen, and then for us to work together to try and help you get to a better place so that you can make the best decisions for yourself and achieve what you want out of life.
I love seeing people change, becoming more self confident, and ultimately happier. I try and provide feedback and perspective to help you achieve your goal.
